2’s vs St Lawrence & Highland CC

After facing a team that was relegated last week it was time to see what one of the Newley promoted teams had to offer, considering they only lost 14 available points last season we were going to be at our best,

With overcast conditions and a weather forecast to nice for cricketers whoever won the toss was going to bowl first, unfortunately Barks lost the toss and he got asked to have a bat, with last weeks opening stand of 98 the heath was in safe hands as Ben and John walked to the crease, and after 10 or so minutes of play we was shocked to as how bad he oppos fielding was, Ben wasn’t complaining though when he cut one to point and there fielder dropped a dolly, as Ben was finally seeing the ball like a beech ball rather than a testicle he and John started to smash a few loverly shots to the boundary, until Ben tried his luck again cutting to point but this time the fielder didn’t make a meal out of it, with Ben gone for a good looking 16 it was monkeys turn to have a go but with the rain starting to get a bit heavier he didn’t fancy it and snicked off, raj jointed John on the middle until the rain became to heavy and the umpires bought them off,

After about 2 hours and an early tea, which was outstanding once again from Mrs McCann the umpires and there captain had enough of waiting and called time on the game, so the 2’s remain unbeaten this season and with another relegated team next week in Orpington will be looking to keep the momentum going and bring home another win.
