St Lawrence

A lovely sunny day at the Heath, home to St Lawrence who are top, turned up to see the oppo looking at the green wicket thinking ‘let’s lose the toss and bowl first’, and me thinking shall I tell them it will play better than it looks, will I he’ll!!

Ciaran win the toss and batted, with our experience openers Wiseo and John at the crease. An opening partnership of 49 followed before Wiseo departed, having missed 6 full tosses, followed by Uncle.

Wickets followed, Monkey plum, Ravi blatant snick off, until we were 103/6, before a fantastic partnership between skip and overseas (new balls please), took us to 224. A competitive score.

After a healthy tea, 4 plates Malcolm as he is now known, St Lawrence started their run chase.

A few words at their overseas, ‘ a long flight mate to play 1 shot’, and wickets fell. There was a slight delay after I decided to fight their lady umpire, she was fantastic, I have to admit, wickets fell to Ali Trumpet Barker, and the Heaths leading wicket taker, best number 10 in the league, oppo were bowled out for 136. Let’s hope Sid (Toy Story), performs next week
