Bexleyheath 2’s vs old colfiens 2’s

On a week leading up to a game knowing that weather wasn’t going to ruin anything the 2’s headed off to Eltham to play old colfes. Upon arrival the oppo were removing the covers off the pitch to unveil what looked like to be a road, so the skip won the toss and decided to bat first. 90 minutes later the scoreboard didn’t look too great reading 58-4 with the top order giving there wicket away, after some tail wagging and more Heath batsmen giving there wicket away cheaply we managed to finish on 138. With the better Aldred top scoring with 30.

After a quick tea break he Heath knew we had to get quick wickets to win the game and with a change up of the opening bowlers we got off to the perfect start with Ganny getting a wicket in his first over and jack getting one of his own a couple later. Things got even better when barks reacted quick enough (not sure how) to through the ball to bill to run out there number 3. After a very good start things didn’t go too well after that, old colfes number 4 come in and hit one to bill on the boundary first ball which he would only parry for 6 and 10 balls later done the same thing but to barks this time. He ended up on 77-4 and won the game for his team. A good effort by the boys but not getting enough runs and dropping 5 catches cost us big time. Roll on next week as we entertain Canterbury at the Heath
