Bexleyheath 3’s vs Bromley 3’s

The day started in ordinary fashion, having bets on how late shuk will be for meet, everyone was wrong as he was so late he didn’t even make it to the club as jake picked him up from the pub.

On arrival to the overcast ground and with bad weather all week all eyes were on how spongy the gas could actually be, with one of the biggest games of the 3’a season after only 5 games the lads went out for the usual warm up and the skip went to toss up, for the 3rd week in a row he lost and was asked to bat first again, knowing that it was going to be a hard track to bat on and the 120 is possibly a par score neil and shrendog walked to the crease knowing we needed to see of the new ball and set a platform for the rest of the team, out of the 9 balls neil faced he middled 4 of them, only thing was he was using his pad rather than his bat, resulting in there umpire to give and give neil out, after a few quick wickets, the famous last words given to Woodsie was we need to bat 40 overs, 2 balls later he had taken over the scoring, missing a straight one saying it done a bit playing a massive drive, 15-3 soon turned into 26-6, with the skip and Barkway at the crease we just needed something to bowl at, the pair getting us up to 62-7. The partnership consisted of a lot of running 3’s much to jakes dispear, con lapping him on most occasions, with the tail wagging slightly and a few more poor dismissals we finished on a below par 92,

Going into the second innings knowing we have a massive job to do to get something from the game, we couldn’t have gotten of to a better start as The first ball of the innings from Sam was a gentle loosener the opening bat decided to pick out 1 of only 2 fields on the leg side to be out first ball, 3 balls later things got even better when the other Bromley opening bat missed a straight one to leave things 5-2 from the first over, with Sam and shuk both keeping it tight we had to wait till the 9th over for Sam to get his third wicket, we had to wait another 9 overs for our next wicket little legs decided hes had Anouilh of giving fish a work out chucking it down leg and that he will bowl a straight one which the batsmen missed, next over and the last wicket before drinks Sam got his 4th leaving Bromley 48-5 at drinks still needing another 45 runs to win and the Heath needing 5 quick wickets, with a wicket coming in the next over, barkway keeping to of his trend of bumping out kids or old men the Heath though we was in for a massive chance of winning, bad thing was Bromley’s number 6 and 8 put on a match winning partnership of 43 to win the game by 3 wickets.

With a couple of positives taken from the game and only 8 points of top spot the boys have the chance to make amends for a poor batting display at home next week to bottom of the league old wilsonions only a win will be good enough to keep chance of promotion going
