3s vs BOCA

If we are to take the good way from this weekend at least it didn’t rain and we got to top up our tans.

From getting all the players there on time to the way the day went it was all a bit of a mess. And that is meant that from what we know we can achieve we are better than this and we know it and have proved it this season already.

There were good performances out there amongst the ranks but no match winning performances ( only Jonks match losing one of his own admission) We won the toss and elected to bat on a deck that looked a but up and down but actually didn’t play too badly. Wilkes and the freshly returned Kempson started us off steadily looking like he hasn’t been away for 2 years at all. Run out no 1 for Wilkes with Ryno shortly following. Rebuilding a little with Mike and Darren till run out no 2 ( controversially perhaps ) ended Mike’s vigil. Harry next for 8 off his 25 balls. Jonks a golden ( game losing performance no 1) and the rest followed with a good little 19 from Bilal to see us over the 100 at least

We ended all out 110. Not nearly enough against the top of the table. They set about their innings like you can expect chasing a below par score and were 1 down in the 3rd over before Jonks decided to play for the other side again and dropped their best bat twice in 2 overs. Mike caught the Jonks virus and shelled another leaving Mr Monk and Ryno two unlucky and frustrated bowlers.

Jonks figured he hasn’t helped the other team enough yet so bowled terribly for 2 overs to give them enough runs that the rest didn’t really mattered anymore. Ryno bowled well to finish a decent almost MOM wining spell. Harrikan burgled one with some lovely spin and Bilal chipped in a well. But the oppo got the score 4 down and in the 26th over.

We will get them next time they don’t deserve the top spot we are a better all round team. On to better things and not to forget from this one but learn from it instead.
