Firstly, sorry for the delay, but I have been trying to get the scorecard updated on Play Cricket, but no one seems to know where the scorebook is!!!!

A great team performance wins the U13 Smash for Bexleyheath.

I have to start the report by singling out Captain Suchet, not only did he win the toss yet again, but he did a superb job of captaining the side in a very different format to what he is used to, great work.

Batting first in a 60-ball reduced format innings, the openers Nandak and Aniketh got us off to a very solid start. Scoring was difficult, the pitch was still quite damp from all the rain, and the outfield was wet, so the ball didn't travel particularly quickly. The opposition bowled well too, very few extras and some good fielding.

Nandak got out to a very good catch, but the scoring improved steadily. Aniketh was retired for a very good 25, leaving Captain Suchet and Nihaal to push the scoring rate on. They both batted exceptionally well, Nihaal playing some lovely shots, including an imperious 6 off the back foot over long off.

The team ended on 76 for 1 from our 60 balls, a very competitive score.

The team then produced a sublime fielding and bowling display. From ball one, they were on top of the opposition batters, Aniketh, Nihaal, Azaan, Amelia and Suchet restricting the batting team to 39 for 8 from their 60 balls.

A great win for the team and fully deserved after the performances this year. It has been my privilege to coach them this year, and they have improved hugely since the start of the season.
