Greenwich Juniors

These reports are getting harder and harder to write as I am running out of superlatives for this group of players. To play a game and completely dominate an opposition team is quite remarkable.
Couple of things I would like to say. I think our Captain Charl did a tremendous job tonight, very mature and making sure everyone played a part in another great result, and secondly a great all round display by Tommy, two wickets, two catches and a Run Out, pretty awesome.

The match will read like a lot of other games this season, another solid start from Santosh and Artharva, Santosh falling for a great ball for 14 and then the run machines got to work, 4 batsmen retiring (Artharva, Louis, Charl and Bobby) and the team posting an impressive 163 for 2 with the final wicket falling on the last ball with Freddie trying to sneak an audacious final single.

Greenwich started positively with their opener hitting a quick fire 25, but that was it really, after our dismal performance in the field in the last game the boys raised the bar with display, Oliver doing a great job behind the stumps with only 4 byes on a tricky wicket, he also had a very good stumping turned down, which we are all trying to work out why!!! We can all probably guess though, enough said.

It is an absolute privilege to coach the team, they respond positively to everything said to them, they are so positive in their approach to the game, the team spirit is inspiring to listen to, the way they encourage each other and the levels they are reaching is quite incredible.

I will just finish by thanking Matt for his time and efforts with the team, his input is invaluable, his warm ups and also ensuring the score book is correct!

So bring on Blackheath!!!
