Old Elthamians Match May 2022

Well the season continues with a great win against a very strong Old Elthamians team. The team picture in minus Arnav who was trying to put his ankle back together following a very brave but unconventional stop!
Losing the toss and batting first on a very pacey lively track the lads started explosively taking 20 from the first two overs with Santosh and Louie crashing the ball all round the park. This was probably the best bowling attack i have seen in a number of years. The scoring slowed due some very effective bowling. Louie fell to a very good catch trying to force the scoring rate forwards. Santosh played another solid innings retiring for 25 quickly followed by Charl for an immaculate 25. Artharva and Suban pushed the score forward with Suban playing his best innings, a very cultured but belligerent 23 No. A score 0f 124 seemed quite competitive.
Bobby and Alfie opened the bowling and although not taking wickets bowled superbly, very accurate and inducing lots of false shots.
A Run out by Charl set the lads underway and the bowling and fielding just got better and better.
Debutant Arnav taking two crucial wickets and some very tight and tidy bowling from Freddie and Tommy resulted in bowling the opposition out for 87.
We still have room for improvement but again this was a great all round team performance.
