In games of cricket small things change the course of a game and today they did not fall in our favour. I have not had to write about a loss it is a bit strange.
We lost to a very good Dartford team, with no weak links in the bowling or the batting, very similar to ourselves to be honest.
I thought we bowled well and restricted a very strong batting line up to 137 was a good effort. I felt our fielding was a little down on our own very high standards, catches not going quite to hand, close run out chances, nothing really went out way. The twins opened the bowling again and were well supported by Musa and Freddie and subsequently by all the bowlers.
Our batting was solid from the start but found scoring runs difficult. Artharva being Run Out for 24 was unfortunate and then 2 wickets from balls that literally rolled made the task very difficult.
Musa's belligerant 21 Not Out at the end ably supported by Suchet meant we ended up a tantalising 8 runs short of the target.
This will now be a good test of the boys character and I will try my best to lift them up again before next week's tester against Bexley.
Well done everyone.
