So back to winning ways in style. Great batting performance but room for improvement in the bowling and fielding I feel.
I will always pick the positive out of every game win, lose or draw and watching the boys play tonight filled me with a great deal of pride, they needed to bounce back from the Dartford game and they most certainly did that.
The batting had a different look tonight, the usual opening pair looked good until Aniketh got one that kept low. Artharva was at his powerful best dispatching the ball to all parts and very nearly killing me in the process, the fastest I have moved in years!!!
A huge thank you to Alfie for playing although still in pain and his solid batting allowed others to play round him, Suchet with 26, Freddie with 27 and of course, Alfie retiring for a patient 27.
As I said, I felt our bowling and fielding were a bit below par, especially compared to our usual high standards. Musa with 2, and Aniketh with 2 were very good but I think my pick of the bowlers was Ryley, he bowled with control and skill swinging the ball consistently and his wicket ball was an absolute peach.
We move on next week to another tough fixture away to Gravesend, but hopefully, we will continue the good form.
Well played boys great team performance.
