A great Gravesend game of cricket

It was brilliant for the team to finally get back to playing competitive cricket and what a return against a very strong Gravesend team which included two Kent opening bowlers and various District players.

There are times as a coach when you watch your team play and realise how much they are improving. I am always proud of all my teams but tonights performance really raised the level.

Captain Charl won the toss and put the opposition into bat. A great opening partnership with Sonny and Bobby keeping the score under control and Sonny taking the prize wicket of one of the Kent openers. Alfie and Louie continued to keep the batsmen under a tight rein with Sonny taking a good catch from Alfies first ball to further increase the pressure. Louie took a great caught and bowled and with Artharvar and Bobby taking a wicket each Gravesend were restricted to 128.

Brogan and Artharvar opened the innings with Brogan looking to be very positive. The pair very nearly saw off the Kent opening bowling pair before Brogan was out. Louie quickly followed to a very good catch by the Gravesend keeper.

Charl and Artharvar then had an amazing partnership with Charl hitting an impressive 26 retired. Artharvar was joined by Abirahim who took the attack to the bowlers with a very stylish and aggressive 16. Artharvar was finally retired for a brilliant 26 and with Suban and Aidan finishing the innings the Heath finished on a very creditable 100 for 3.

The things I have taken from the game are the teams togetherness and teamwork and the huge improvement we have made.
