Arriving at Loring Hall at 9:30 Adam went to toss up on a very green wicket. Bexleyheath won the toss and elected to bat. Adam and Sam opened the batting and had a steady start leaving us 46-0 at drinks after 12 overs. Following the break Adam and Sam accelerated the run rate making 62 runs in the next 6 overs. In the 18th over the 108 run partnership broke with Sam being caught on 34 and Adam being bowled on 49. Next in were Sadun and Nadish who both scored big runs at the death. Sadun scored an impressive 28 off 10 balls with 2 sixes and 3 fours before being caught in the 20th over. Nandish batted till the end of the innings and after a 6 off the last ball he scored 21 runs of 11 balls. The target was 159 runs.
The defence started well with a key run out in the second over from the 12 year old Teddy Edwards playing an age group up. 2 overs later following a maiden from Sadun, Sadun caught the number 3 batsman at point off Abhiram’s bowling. 3 very economical overs later we had Bexley 15-2 off 7 overs. A wicket from Sahil in the 9th over left Bexley 29-3. Just before drinks Teddy bowled his first U15s over and took a wicket. This left Bexley 42-4 at drinks. Following drinks in the 12th over Teddy stuck again with his second wicket of the day leaving Bexley 60-5. The following over Joseph Scott, who bowled very well, took his first wicket of the day and then in the over after that Nadish also took wicket leaving Bexley 75-7 off 16 overs. Two overs later Nadish took the 8th wicket with Akshyan taking the final wicket the following over leaving Bexley 84-9 and all out as Bexley only had 10 men.
A very strong performance all round and some good confidence built to go into the next match.
